Every year we really look forward to the start of June because the Hot Summer Night Hot Sauce competition announces its winners.

This year our Armageddon Unleashed Cheese Bites placed 10th and our original Heat From Above: Fiery Cheese Bites placed 7th in the Best Spicy Snack Category!

We also had one label ranked in the top 64 in the World’s Favourite Hot Sauce Label!

Overall we were ranked 16th Best Small Batch Hot Sauce Company In The World!

Thank you Jeff and Chanda for organizing such a terrific event year after year! For those that don’t know what the competition is about it’s a fundraiser for the Old Boney Mountain Foundation. It supports programs for disadvantaged youths.

The entire competition is supported by volunteers and 100% of the entry fees are donated to the foundation. We are proud to help support this great organization each year!

This morning Chef Jeremy Parsons did a segment on CHCH Morning Live with summer drink and food options. One of the items he was putting together was a grilled watermelon salad topped with our Balsamic Burn marinade!

Thank you for the shout out Jeremy!

I feel that our Balsamic Burn marinade is underrated and not tried enough by people sampling our products. It sounds scary but the flavour is primarily balsamic vinegar. We do add our Rousay Red #5 hot sauce for some spiciness but we also make a homemade ketchup that goes in the marinade as well. The last piece is pan roasted sesame seeds.

Typically we’ll put our fish or meat in a ziploc bag and pour the Balsamic Burn in with it and let it sit in the fridge. We flip it over every 15 - 20 minutes for a few flips. Then the food is put on the grill and we drizzle the marinade from the bag onto the food. After flipping we’ll drizzle more marinade from the bottle.

You don’t need to marinate the meat/fish you can also just drizzle it on while you are grilling. This works well with pork chops and steaks!

It’s a versatile sauce and can be used many ways. The most basic is as a salad dressing. We also pour it over tomato slice, bocconcini and basil or put a bit of olive oil on a plate and mix the balsamic with it and dip crispy bread with it.

We’ve also marinated vegetables in it and made a quinoa salad and I’ll frequently pour some over leftover plain rice to give it some flavour!

Next time you are at the market and see us make sure you try this sleeper sauce, you won’t regret it!

A new pop up event! Tasty Tuesdays on Barton Street! The market is 2-6 pm on the corner of Earl St and Barton. It’s on the first Tuesday of every month.

Today is the first day and unfortunately some vendors cancelled last minute so is a bit small.

We do have live entertainment and a range of leisure activities including hammocks! If I didn’t have to sell I think I’d be asleep in one of those bad boys!

Come down today, sample our products and hang out on this great day!
