This client wanted an inexpensive solution for finishing their stairs, since stair treads can be fairly expensive. There was previously carpet on the steps which, when removed, left the treads in rough condition. To make this a cost-effective and beautiful finished product, we used regular hardwood flooring and painted the risers and skirting a nice contrasting white. We routered the outside pieces to get that nice rounded finished edge on the nosing.
