Progesterone is one of the most important hormones in fertility treatment. After ovulation, it helps prepare the lining of the uterus for embryo implantation and supports the early stages of pregnancy until the placenta is ready to take over hormone production.

Having an adequate progesterone level at the time of embryo transfer and in early pregnancy is important for creating the best possible environment for implantation and ongoing pregnancy.

If you've had a frozen embryo transfer at Atlantic Fertility in the past few months, you may have noticed that we're now monitoring progesterone levels more closely—both on the day of your embryo transfer and again on the day of your β-hCG blood test. These additional checks allow our team to adjust your progesterone dose if needed, helping ensure your hormone levels remain within the optimal range to support your treatment.

Every step we take is aimed at giving you the best possible chance of success, while tailoring your care to your individual needs. ❤️
