Dynamic children exploring with sound, water and pinching.

The children in the Tangible Room have been exploring loose parts. The children were using tubes to balls, Pom Poms in. Some children were putting the Pom Poms into the different holders. Other children were exploring scarves by pulling them out of the holder, playing peekaboo, covering the yo babies with them as well as the cardboard tubes. ended

I have no instructions, yet I teach.
I have no rules, yet I guide.
In tiny hands, I become anything
A tower, a road, a world inside.

I can be stones, sticks, shells, or rings,
Nothing at first… but then everything.
I spark ideas you cannot see,
And build young minds so silently.

What am I?

The world around us remains full of wonder, inviting children to explore, question, and discover. Through the use of loose parts found in their environment, children engage in meaningful play that supports their curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills. These open-ended materials allow each child to construct knowledge in their own unique way, fostering independence, imagination, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our KIDS R KIDS families for generously donating loose parts for our learning environments. Your contributions play a vital role in enriching the children’s experiences, and thanks to your support, they are joyfully exploring, creating, and learning through the endless possibilities that loose parts provide.

We had a very exciting visitor this morning! One of our children’s moms joined us and shared her special knowledge and skills by teaching us how to use a sewing machine to make a fabric bag.
The children gathered eagerly around the table, full of curiosity and excitement. Everyone had a chance to participate! They took turns pressing the foot pedal, discovering how it made the machine move, and each child got to choose their favorite fabric; there were so many colors, patterns, and textures to explore.
We also practiced important measuring and cutting skills. The children helped measure the fabric for the bag handles and carefully used scissors to cut them to the right size. While waiting for their turn, others stayed busy cutting their own fabric pieces, building confidence and coordination.
There was lots of wonderful conversation happening too! The children talked about what they wanted to create, pointed out different colors and designs, and explored how each fabric felt. Some children even worked together as a team: one operating the foot pedal while the other guided the fabric, learning cooperation and teamwork in a fun, hands-on way.
A few children came and went from the table, excited to check on the progress and see how the bag was coming along. In the end, we created a beautiful fabric bag that we can now use in our classroom for play.
We were so grateful for our special guest and made sure to say a big thank you for such a fun and educational experience!🩷
