June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to recognize the rich history, heritage and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. This month, and all year long take the opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of those who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to shape Canada today.

Did you know? The campaign dates back to 2009, when the House of Commons designated June as National Aboriginal History Month. The name was changed to National Indigenous History Month in 2017.

Any service disruption would have significant economic and social impacts across the region.
