Highfield Maple Amber Ale. This beer by uses NB maple syrup and sap from . If you’re in the Hampton area, make sure to pick one up!
This label was fun to do, I really like repeating patterns and the maple leaf was a great shape to incorporate into one. This also got me to finally mock up a beer bottle in Blender to properly show it off.
Cheers!
“Triforce” from The Legend of Zelda. It feels a bit silly having something so powerful hanging out like a desk accessory, but you can’t do Zelda collectibles without having this be one of them.
Again using my procedural gold material for this, but went with some different settings than my other gold items; it didn’t feel right having a bunch of scratches and dents on something so important.
“Heart Container” from The Legend of Zelda. This one took some time to decide on a style, but I finally got something I liked. Hope this brings you good health this long weekend!
“Coin” from Mario (but not Super Mario 64). Interestingly this coin design has been relatively unchanged since it’s 8-bit version, except in Super Mario 64, where coins had a star on them. Although I love the N64 game, I felt more attached to this style of the coin, so chose to make it instead. Also had a debate with myself about how gold-like I should make it, but it just didn’t feel right being super reflective, it’s too iconic to change.
Musical Note from Banjo Kazooie on the Nintendo 64. These are common collectibles in the game, with 100 in each world. The tricky part with collecting them is that they reset if you die which means you need to collect all 100 in a single run to keep them all. This makes them arguably the toughest collectibles to complete, especially late in the game.
I’m getting a lot of mileage out of this gold material. Unsurprisingly, gold is a common collectible material. This is great for letting me focus on modelling but I’m going to switch it up next time to keep it interesting.
