There is something different about holding a book.

The weight of it.
The corners.
The fact that it can sit beside a chair, on a table, or under a coffee cup if life gets slightly untidy.

A book is an object too.

And that feels right for Soul Decor: At Home in Your Own Skin.

Because this book is about the things we live among.

The objects that remember us.
The rooms that let us breathe.
The shelves that hold more than taste.
The strange little things we keep because some part of us knows they still matter.

This is not a decorating book.

It is about edited living, inhabited living, visible humanity, and the slow return to a life that feels more honestly yours.

The paperback and Kindle are available for preorder worldwide on Amazon until June 15. Official launch day is June 15.

We are honoured to be featured by Nova Scotia Loyal for Pride month.

This one means a lot.

SaltSpray Design lives and works inside an old church in Nova Scotia — a place now filled with sculpture, colour, faces, animals, stories, laughter, sawdust, paint, coffee, and two gay people making a life and a business without hiding.

There is a kind of freedom in that which is hard to explain neatly.

Soul Decor is the idea that our spaces should not just look acceptable. They should hold memory, identity, humour, scars, belonging, and visible humanity. They should let us stop performing and start inhabiting our lives.

So being featured for Pride, inside this particular building, with this particular work, feels deeply right.

Pride is public, yes.
But it is also ordinary.

It is who gets to hold hands.
Who gets to build a business.
Who gets to make art.
Who gets to be visible in the rooms they live and work in.

Thank you, Nova Scotia Loyal, for seeing SaltSpray and Soul Decor so clearly.

Happy Pride from our old church studio by the sea.
