EMEA Project Insight: Commercial Solar at Mac’s Truck Sales, UK
Working in collaboration with Canadian Solar, Vawtx Ltd led the procurement, design, and delivery of a rooftop solar PV system at Mac’s Truck Sales, engineered to provide consistent, long-term performance. The system was seamlessly integrated into the site’s existing infrastructure, with careful consideration given to the exposed Huddersfield location and its high, gusting wind loads.
📍 Project overview
• Installed capacity: 232.96 kWp
• Modules: 512 × 455 W Canadian Solar TOPHiKu6 CS6.2-48TD
• Estimated annual generation: ~255 MWh
• Estimated CO₂ reduction: ~240 tonnes per year
As part of the system design, Vawtx Ltd selected Canadian Solar’s TOPHiKu6 CS6.2-48TD modules to meet the project’s performance and durability requirements. Combining high efficiency, robust mechanical strength, and a 25-year performance-backed design, the modules support long-term reliability in demanding environments. Their black frame finish also ensures a clean, consistent roof aesthetic, while their structural robustness makes them particularly well-suited to sites exposed to elevated wind conditions.
This project highlights Vawtx Ltd’s ability to deliver commercial-scale solar solutions from concept through to completion, combining in-house expertise with trusted manufacturer alignment to achieve optimal outcomes.
We also acknowledge the support of Rubicon and Vawtx during the delivery phase of the project.
