One year ago today, rock history was made.
On July 5, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne took the stage for the final time at Birmingham's Villa Park in the unforgettable Back to the Beginning concert. In front of a sold-out crowd, the Prince of Darkness delivered an emotional farewell performance that celebrated a legendary career spanning more than five decades.
Despite ongoing health challenges, Ozzy appeared onstage seated atop a custom gothic throne, proving that nothing could keep him from sharing one last night with the fans who stood by him throughout his incredible journey.
The evening featured a solo set before building to a moment many thought they would never see again, a reunion of the original Black Sabbath lineup. Together, they performed iconic songs including "War Pigs" and "Paranoid," bringing the band's story full circle in the city where it all began.
The event served as a celebration of Ozzy's legacy, while also raising money for local charities. The historic night is now being preserved through the upcoming film Back to the Beginning: Ozzy's Final Bow, ensuring future generations can witness the emotional farewell.
From Birmingham garages to global stages, Ozzy Osbourne helped define heavy metal, and on this day in 2025, he said goodbye in the most fitting way possible: surrounded by family, bandmates, and the fans who never stopped believing in him. 🦇
