As we drive through Europe, we’ve been listening to lots of audiobooks on money mindset. It’s got me thinking about the “American Dream”.

Really, the American Dream is all about money. The house, the car and the status that comes with having money. It seems that everything else should be sacrificed on the road to wealth.

The opposite of this is the ‘sell everything and travel the world’ mentality. It’s the shoestring budget, money doesn’t matter, scrape by because experiences are better than things, so stop chasing money attitude.

But that doesn’t resonate with me either! It promotes escaping life, rather than finding a sustainable BALANCE.

Do you want to work so much that it consumes all of your time? What’s the point of having more money if you don’t have the time to do the things that bring you joy?

I want to work the right amount to have enough money to do the things I enjoy, with the people I love, because that makes me happy.

That’s the balance I’m talking about. The TIME-MONEY balance (not work life balance, that just sounds catchier!). That place on the scale where you have both the time AND the money to do the things you want to do.

Where do you sit on the time-money scale?

I've been thinking a lot about time lately. Time passes at the same speed for all of use, no matter how old or young, rich or poor.

It's the one thing we can't buy. We can't create it, stop it, slow it down or change it.

The only thing we have control over is what we DO with the time we have.

That's a gift.

We're so lucky to be able to choose how we spend our time.

You can also choose how you feel about the things you fill your time with. You can go to work feeling like you're wasting our time on something you have to do. Or, you can go to work feeling grateful that you have a job that provides you with an income to choose what you do with the rest of your time. It's up to you!

Do you choose to spend your time doing things you love? Do you approach the things you do with gratitude and joy? I know I try to, but I'm not perfect at it!!
