When I first started Back Home Designs I wish someone had told me just how invaluable the learning process really was.
I fought the productive struggle HARD when I started BHD. But HELLO, what did I expect? Here's a list of everything NEW I was teaching myself:
•Website design
•Mockup design
•The ART of screen printing (without professional equipment)
•Marketing
•Email campaigns
•How to conduct market research
•Design software
•Shipping logistics
•Creating policies and DMOs
😳🤯 I look at that list (knowing full well I'm forgetting dozens of things) and I'm thinking WHHHERE was the grace you allowed yourself? Trust me, it was nowhere to be seen.
But that whole process was priceless. So many lessons learned I can't even begin to list them but they far outweigh that first list.
If you're learning something new or steering down a different road... give yourself the grace to make mistakes, I promise it's where the true value lies.
