We are living in a time of accelerated crises: our healthcare system is strained, wages and benefits aren’t keeping up with costs, stable housing is out of reach for too many, and a destabilized climate leaves our communities exposed to floods, fires, and other disasters that threaten our health and livelihoods.

Behind these intersecting crises is a story driven by corporate actors and billionaires who repeatedly prioritize profit over the wellbeing of people and communities.

It’s time to rebuild people power. Join us in Fredericton for an action-oriented closing kick-off of the Social Forum in Wolastokuk, a hands-on session to connect, strategize, and build collective power to push back against corporate overreach and to advance solutions for healthcare, housing, climate, and workers’ rights.

The Many versus The Money is a grassroots series originated by the Council of Canadians that brings people together to share experiences, propose solutions, and form cross-cutting collaborations. This Fredericton session will feature a panel discussion, facilitated breakout sessions, and a “barnstorming” session where participants can launch calls to action and recruit collaborators and volunteers to support their initiatives.

The event will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1:30–3:30 p.m. in the Main Floor Hall of Cathedral Memorial Hall, 168 Church St. (corner of Brunswick St.), Fredericton, New Brunswick.

📅 On Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, the NB Media Co-op and partners will host a New Brunswick Social Forum in Fredericton under the theme: The Many vs The Money.

We invite participation from everyone interested in building a fairer New Brunswick. The NB Social Forum will feature an Info Fair, Presentations, and Workshops to inform and foster reflection on ways to strengthen social movements, activist groups, and community-based solutions.

🎯 The event aims to build capacity and solidarity to more effectively fight capitalism, colonialism, racism, patriarchy, and other structures that divide and exclude us.
