H.E.A.R.T.S. is more than a relationship tool — it’s the posture our counsellors bring into every conversation, beyond techniques, theories, or philosophies.
We believe healing happens best when people feel:
🤝 Helpful — supported in practical and meaningful ways
💛 Encouraging — strengthened, not judged
👂 Attentive — deeply heard and understood
🫶 Respectful — valued with dignity and compassion
🗣️ Truthful — met with honesty and authenticity
🛡️ Safe — emotionally and psychologically secure
At the centre of counselling is relationship.
And healthy relationships help people grow, heal, and move toward a rich and meaningful life.

Out of everything I could be doing with my life, I’m grateful that not a day goes by without being reminded that recovery is possible.
Since launching our outpatient program on October 1, 2025, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals, families, and organizations who have trusted us with some of life’s hardest moments.
Thank you for believing in Rise Recovery Program, in the work we do, and most importantly, in the possibility of change, healing, and hope.
Recovery is possible.
The Body’s Paycheque this week went toward 3 different adventures, plus a little strength training along the way.
Every body needs:
✔️ Exercise
✔️ Relaxation
✔️ Real food
✔️ Sleep
Simple things that make a big difference.
Your body keeps showing up for you every day — how you “pay” it back matters.

Something that stayed with me after onboarding a few new counsellors was how often everything we discussed came back to our values and philosophy as a team.
We lean away from fear and shame-based models of thinking in recovery.
We believe addiction may be a part of someone’s story, but it does not define who they are. People are unique, which makes them powerful and special in their own ways.
Yes, people struggle, and struggle can become a potential hazard. But struggle does not have to be the final destination. People can grow. People can heal. People can choose hope.
There are many treatment models and many evidence-based approaches that support recovery. We deeply value approaches that move people toward healing, connection, and wholeness.
I never realized how important aligned values are within a team or among colleagues until recently. It is meaningful to be surrounded by people who believe change is possible, and whose approaches give people the opportunity to experience it.
I’m excited to see the hope that enters people’s lives this year.
