Meet Our Newest Volunteer, Hank 🐾

We're excited to welcome Hank and his owner, Miriam, to our Adult Day Program family!

Hank is a sweet and gentle boy who will be joining us for regular visits to provide companionship to our participants. We're so grateful to have Hank and Miriam sharing their time with us and can't wait for all the joy they'll bring!

Good nutrition is an important part of healthy aging! 🫐📝

Our participants enjoyed an engaging presentation from York Care Centre's in-house dietitian, Lynne Morrison, on eating to promote brain health. There were plenty of great questions, helpful tips, and meaningful discussion, followed by a tasty snack of low-sugar yogurt, blueberries, and oats😋

Thank you, Lynne, for sharing your expertise and helping our participants learn more about making healthy choices every day!

This week, our participants and families enjoyed a special presentation from York Care Centre's Pastor Norm McDonald. In addition to serving as YCC's in-house Pastor, Norm is also a local representative for the We Are Young program! 🩵

WAY is a charitable organization that grants meaningful wishes to older adults at no cost, helping them reconnect with loved ones, revisit cherished memories, and experience lifelong dreams.

The presentation was informative, engaging, and very well received. Thank you, Pastor Norm, for sharing this wonderful opportunity with our Adult Day Program community!

Today we're celebrating the fathers and father figures who have helped shape families, communities, and generations 💙 Thank you for the stories, the laughs, and the many ways you enrich our days. We hope you're celebrated today and every day!

⚠ Summer Concert Series Update ⚠

Due to rain in Monday's forecast, the outdoor Summer Concert Series scheduled for Monday, June 15th at York Care Centre has been postponed to Tuesday, June 16th at 6:30 pm. The concert will take place in the York Care Centre front parking lot.

We’re holding out for the sunshine in Tuesday’s forecast and look forward to enjoying the music together. It’s always more fun in the sunshine 🔆
