Banks and I wanted to join the trend over here at Flutter Glow Up Bar! 😆 I could have spent much more time playing around. This was so much fun!

The dreaded C word…..

Back in April I was going through some pictures from last summer and noticed a red spot on my shoulder. I hadn’t really paid much attention to it but realized it was still there, one year later!! I’ve had moles removed over the years but never had this kind of spot before so I thought I would get it removed and checked out. Turned out to be skin cancer. It was very shocking as I always thought moles were more worrisome.

There a few different types of skin cancer and mine was the least dangerous. It’s the most common, slow growing and doesn’t typically spread to other parts of the body! 🙏 I think it’s important to educate yourself with the types of skin cancer that can occur especially if you have fair skin, getting older and had unprotected sun exposure.

I’m posting this because I want to encourage sun protection, watch for abnormal spots (abnormal growing moles and spots that don’t heal) and don’t be afraid to get them checked out.

I had to have a minor surgery to remove more skin and just got my results that’s it’s gone. But with this type of skin cancer, recurrence is possible so I will need to follow up.

The years of basking in the sun are behind me! So if I’m looking pasty, you know why! 😅🤣
