This year we had sunny hot weather for our May 18th season opening gathering. The field was freshly cut even though it didn't look it. One thing that didn't change was the wind. Flyable but strong and gusting. A great day out to begin the season.

Our Fergus Model Field is now open for flying this season so come out and get some air time folks! New windsock is up, canopy is up, BBQ ready and Husqy mowing. Old MTD green tractor needs some work - I just caught the tail end of a huge cloud of smoke in these photos…. But Tom will have a look. Many thanks to Tom and Paul for helping recover my errant Valiant from a very tall pine tree! And thanks to Frances Norlen for the gift of the ladder which was essential for this aircraft retrieval. My depth perception isn’t what it used to be. I could have sworn I was ahead of the trees when landing. :=)

We decided to hold our Victoria Day Fun Fly on Monday May 18th so all members please join us for BBQ and flying. See you at the field!
