As you all know, I am a huge advocate for Cannabis as medicine. I haven't been shy in sharing my conscious cannabis use over the years, especially as a ally for motherhood. Some of my favorite strains that I use regularly are high in terpenes that amplify the healing effects of cannabis.⁠

What are terpenes? Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in many plants (including cannabis) that work synergistically with cannabinoids to enhance their effects through what is commonly referred to as the entourage effect. Terpenes are known to have various therapeutic properties themselves, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and sedative effects.⁠

When essential oils containing terpenes are used alongside CBN, they may amplify CBN's effects on the body. In my experience, when working with certain cannabis strains AND essential oils containing terpenes, I've found greater benefit with managing stress, anxiety and inflammation. ⁠

Here are some of the terpenes you will find in our 'Terpene Tonic' essential oil blend. ⁠

Linalool: Found in lavender linalool has sedative and anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) properties. When combined with CBN, which also has sedative effects, it may enhance the relaxation and sleep-inducing properties of CBN.⁠

Myrcene: This terpene is known for its sedative effects and is found in Lemongrass. Myrcene may synergize with CBN to further promote relaxation and sedation.⁠

Linalyl acetate: Found in Lavender and Clary Sage, Linalyl acetate has been shown to reduce blood pressure, alleviate anxiety, and provide cardiovascular protection.⁠

1.8 cineol: Found in Eucalyptus, this terpene helps to open airways, soothe inflammation and provide antioxidant effects on the body.⁠

Beta-caryophyllene: A powerhouse terpene, found in Copaiba, provides neuroprotective effects as well as supporting a healthy inflammatory response. Youll notice we use this resin quite frequently in our anti-inflammatory products, like Enchantress. ⁠
