We’ve added a new project to Nature Alberta’s Citizen Science page! 🌳🪲

The Emerald Ash Borer Citizen Science Project, led by Community Field and Forest, helps track the spread of this invasive insect, which poses a serious threat to ash trees across Alberta and Canada. By learning to identify signs of infestation and reporting observations, you can play an important role in monitoring and protecting local ecosystems.

If you’d like to learn more about this project or explore the other citizen science projects, head to https://naturealberta.ca/citizen-science/.

It’s easy to participate in this provincewide citizen science BioBlitz:
1. Download the iNaturalist app.
2. Optional: Search for and join the regional project you want to participate in. You can find a list with handy links at naturalberta.ca/biodiversity-challenge. But you don’t have to be in a particular region to participate. Sightings from anywhere in Alberta count!

4. Upload your sightings to iNaturalist, and they’ll automatically be added to Alberta’s results!
Join nature enthusiasts across the province to show off our amazing biodiversity!
