You are the human medicine. During a threshold like today, may we remember that the Earth is continuously alive with magic—and no matter how far we have strayed, we too, are composed of this medicine. A tree’s root system is an interconnected web within the soils of the Earth, intertwined with a mycorrhizal fungi network—communicating and co-existing as a coherent unit. The trees and plants alike carry mechanoreceptors in their cells, allowing them to sense the vibration of the world around them. The way we view medicine has become externalized by various inputs—revealing that we have yet to believe we are naturally imbued with it, but rather have to search outside of ourselves for it. Yet as an expression of nature’s ancient blueprint, we are being encouraged to remember our own sentience—our own ability to interact with the surrounding world in a way that is filled with wonderment. Reconnecting to our own root system, and ultimately to the mycelial network of humanity, is right beneath our feet. The medicine at its core—is simple. The medicine is you. It is you in tandem with the miraculous life on Earth. It is you in full connection with the body that carries you. It is you in a present state with the soil, trees, plants, and animals. What would happen if we remembered that sitting under a tree is transformational? That feeling the grass between our fingertips and water throughout our hair, is ceremonial?
