Celebrating 15 Years of Excellence at Great Canadian Solar
Great Canadian Solar is proud to celebrate 15 years of serving Alberta’s solar energy market. Reflecting on our journey, we’ve witnessed incredible advancements in the industry. When we first started, the economic payback for solar systems was 50–60 years, while the environmental payback was less than a year—especially with Alberta relying heavily on coal-fired electricity generation.
As part of this milestone, we’re sharing 15 recommendations for a successful solar project, based on our experience delivering hundreds of residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects across Alberta.
Recommendation #15: Get 3 Quotes!
For any solar project, we strongly encourage clients to obtain quotes from at least three companies with proven experience in your local market. Over the years, we’ve met many clients who initially signed contracts with high-pressure, door-to-door sales companies that subcontract their installations. While it’s important to consider their proposal, giving other reputable companies a chance to bid can save you from overpaying. High-pressure sales tactics often indicate pricing far above the market average.
Let us help you make informed decisions as you embark on your solar journey. Here’s to 15 years of empowering Alberta with sustainable energy—and many more to come!
