Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all the best in 2026! This is one of my favourite pics from 2025 ... the Nov 11-12 show. It was soooo wow‼️😍 The moon.... Well, sure, one could argue that the Aurora and the moon don't play well together.

Buuut if the moon is prominent and the Aurora is this strong? I'm happy to capture an image like this and forget thinking about how much more of the Aurora could be captured without the moon.

Timing of course is everything.... With the snowy, rainy, snowy, icy, freezing 🥶 (did I mention snowy?) weather, will we even get to see the full moon in a few days?🤷 Timing....😉

Things are up and down....

The Aurora was HUGE over YEG Nov 11-12, 2025.... It's amazing how the city looks so tiny! What a magical night!

I had a chat with a friend about getting away from crazy life drama (whatever that might be at any given time), spending time in nature, taking in the beauty, enjoying serene scenes.... and then I had to laugh at the wild contrast between some of my photos like the very recent one with the full moon rising, seemingly ever-so-gently into a soft cloud above (ahhh, Kumbayaaaa😊), with ones like this -- organized-yet-chaotic composition and strong colour.... Dramatic trees? Yes please!😁
