Spending time with big families always makes me so incredibly homesick for mine.

I grew up with four siblings. All deeply ((and probably ‘too’)) woven into each other’s lives from the very beginning. We shared rooms, dinners, favourite movie quotes, inside jokes, and an entire, crazy ass childhood together.

As a kid, I definitely didn’t realize what a gift that was.

Now, when I photograph big families, I find myself watching the sibling dynamics more than anything. The comfort of being known by someone who’s been there through every version of you.

Photographing families like this reminds me that long after the toys are gone and the house gets quieter, what remains is each other.

And I think that’s why these sessions feel so special to me. They aren’t busy. They’re rich. Fulfilling. And slightly emotional. 🥲
