Here is a new update regarding transit in the UK:

From now on, Canadians do not need an ETA to transit through the UK if they do not pass through border control (‘airside’ transit).

⚠️ CLARIFICATION REGARDING TRANSITING LONDON AIRPORT:

Visa required, except for nationals of Egypt transiting through London (LHR) or Manchester (MAN) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country on the same calendar day. They must:
- have a visa issued by Australia, Canada, New Zealand or USA, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for the next destination.

For people asking about transiting through the UK, starting Jan 8th, you need to apply for ETA. You can apply online or download the ETA UK app from the link below.
It costs £10 (C$18) to apply. Everyone travelling, including babies and children, needs an ETA.
