Today, May 5, 2026, is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People (MMIWG2S).

Red Dress Day is a time for our Nation to make the invisible visible. It serves as a reminder to never forget, to never stop fighting for change, and to come together as a community to honour those who have been taken, those who are still missing, and the families who continue to seek justice and healing. We also honour the many strong, passionate female knowledge keepers who represent Enoch Cree Nation.

Staff and Band/Community members are encouraged to wear red in honour of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, and to wear blue in remembrance of missing Indigenous men and boys, as a show of respect, solidarity, and remembrance.
