Ready To Go Construction
03/16/2026
Happy Monday! Framing just wrapped up last week and rough in stage will be wrapping up this week at one of our Summer side basement development projects. We are excited to show the progress as we move along in getting this project all together for these wonderful clients! Stay tuned
One of the most noticeable parts of a finished basement…
is the flooring.
Not just how it looks, but how it feels and holds up over time.
Flooring is something you interact with every day. Walking on it, cleaning it, moving furniture across it. So the right choice can make a big difference in how easy the space is to live with.
That’s why things like durability, comfort, and room transitions matter when planning basement floors.
Common options we install in basements include:
• LVP for durability and easy maintenance
• carpet for warmth and comfort in bedrooms or living areas
• tile in bathrooms and around wet bars
Each option has its place depending on how the basement will be used.
Another detail that makes a big difference is how flooring flows between rooms. Clean transitions and consistent layouts can make the entire basement feel more intentional and connected.
When flooring is chosen and installed properly, it does more than just finish the space.
it helps the basement feel comfortable, practical, and ready for everyday use.
Because good flooring shouldn’t just look good on day one.
It should hold up for years to come.

One small paint detail can change how an entire basement looks.
It’s also one of the easiest places for small mistakes to show up later.
Because basement lighting tends to highlight everything.
The way the surface is prepared, the primer that’s used, and how the paint is applied all play a big role in the final result.
If those steps aren’t done properly, you can end up seeing things like:
• patchy spots in certain lighting
• areas that look shinier or duller than others
• small drywall imperfections that suddenly stand out
A lot of that comes down to the prep work before the paint even goes on the wall.
Things like proper sanding, priming, and consistent application help create a smooth finish that looks good from every angle.
Colour choices also make a difference.
In basements, lighter and thoughtful colour selections can help reflect light better and make the space feel brighter and more open.
Paint is usually done in multiple stages during a basement project, but once everything is complete it’s the step that really helps tie the entire space together.
When it’s done well, the basement stops feeling like a construction project…
and starts feeling like a finished part of the home.
