Volume One Bookstore
Come and browse the store or shop online anytime. Volume One opened its doors in 1972 and has been a focal point of downtown Duncan ever since. Now under the ownership of Sonia Ottosen, our bookstore continues to offer a wide selection of new and bargain books as well as an extensive children's section. We love to unite the right book with the right person so feel free to ask our knowledgeable staff for assistance.
Ah, the irony! 💩💩💩
This is actually a great book by the way! Here’s a little about it:
Ensh*ttification: It’s not just you—the internet sucks now. It’s been ensh*ttified. That was no accident, and it’s not gonna fix itself. Here’s how we’ll disensh*ttify it so we can have a new, good internet.
In Ensh*ttification, Cory Doctorow shows us how this has come to pass: not from the iron laws of economics, or the great forces of history, but specific policy choices made by powerful people who ignored every warning about the consequences of those choices. These are choices that can be undone. Ensh*ttification is a Big Tech disassembly manual, a road map for the seizure of the means of computation. It is a diagnosis, and it is a cure.
