Caregivers Need Care Too
Caring for a loved one can be one of the most meaningful roles we take on. It can also be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding.
Many family caregivers spend so much time focusing on the needs of others that they rarely stop to consider their own wellbeing.
Most do not think of themselves as caregivers. They are simply a daughter helping her mother, a husband supporting his wife, a son driving his father to appointments, or a friend checking in.
Over time, those responsibilities can grow. Appointments, meals, medication reminders, household tasks, decision-making, and the emotional weight of wanting the very best for someone you love can become overwhelming.
Signs of caregiver burnout may include:
▪ Feeling constantly tired or overwhelmed
▪ Difficulty sleeping
▪ Increased stress or anxiety
▪ Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
▪ Feeling isolated or disconnected
▪ Changes in your own health and wellbeing
Caregiver burnout often develops gradually, making it easy to miss.
Taking time to rest, ask for help, or access available support is an important part of caregiving. Looking after your own health and wellbeing allows you to continue supporting the people who depend on you.
Sometimes the most important question is not, "How is Mom doing?"
It's, "How are you doing?"
What do you do to take care of yourself while caring for others?

💙 Access to Therapy: Making Mental Health Support More Accessible
Everyone deserves access to mental health care, regardless of income or circumstance.
Access to Therapy is a community-focused initiative working to remove financial barriers to counselling and psychotherapy. Their goal is to ensure that individuals who are low-income or facing marginalization can still receive the support they need.
Through a network of qualified practitioners, they help connect people to therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Support is available both virtually and in person, helping make care more flexible and accessible.
What makes this initiative especially meaningful is that donations go directly toward helping individuals access therapy and counselling services.
💙 Small contributions can help make a real difference in someone’s healing journey.
