NEVER be shy to ask your piercer questions

I watched a piercing tutorial this morning. The title literally said “How to cut corners piercing a helix.”

Not implied. Stated. Out loud. As the selling point.

We’re in an era where anyone can film themselves, decide that makes them qualified, and sell a course on it.

Cutting corners doesn’t mean you get away with something. It means someone else’s body pays for it.

So how do you know your piercer is actually qualified?

-Ask how they trained, hands-on time learning under someone experienced, not a weekend course or an online certificate.

-Ask about their jewelry, and see if they can explain what and why they use it not just “it’s high quality”

-Ask to look at healed work, not just fresh photos. Anyone can make a hole but will it heal?!

If they can’t provide those, that’s your answer.

There should never be a moment where “how do we cut corners” crosses a piercer’s mind🩷
