3rd Annual Dust off the Rust
Join us for a fun day of racing, learning, personal coaching and video review on April 26th, 2025!

Start off your season with Dust off the Rust, a day of camaraderie with other dragon boat teams from the island.

VI Paddling will once again lead and coach this day providing paddlers with opportunities to get the rust off their paddling skills, learn new tips, and say hello to other paddlers.

AM: Location: Cumberland Campground Boat Launch, 1100 Comox Lake Rd, Cumberland

8:30am – Warm Up
8:40am - Welcome by VI Paddling President Tom Arnold
9:00am - Races start
Noon - Prizes for winning teams

PM: Location: Native Sons Hall, 360 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay

1:00pm - Lunch and snacks (bring your own bag lunch)
1:30pm - Session for Sterns, led by Trish (National and International stern for VI Paddling)
1:30pm - Personal video review and paddling erg coaching

What to bring

Dress according to the weather forecast for paddling, and consider a change of clothing for the afternoon film review. Please bring a PFD (no belts) and paddle for out on the water. Bring a bagged lunch, water bottle, and any snacks you may need.

Non-VIP members - $10 + GST per person
VIP Members - Free

Please note that registration is limited and is on a first come first serve basis.

EACH participant must sign up online using this platform – MindBody Online so they show up as being registered.

Registration is not complete until we receive payment (when applicable) and signed waiver.
