Lightening dark hair safely is a marathon, not a sprint. Extreme blonding moments, such as this “black to silver” transformation that our Junior Stylist / Apprentice .scissorhands did on Emily, can take upwards of 8-16+ hours of work & tons of product. For this look, Megan used 16 bowls of lightener to do 2 back to back lightening sessions, 3 bowls of color for the rootsmudge/toner combo, and several rounds of bond building treatments throughout the process to keep Emily’s hair in the best condition. The entire process took approximately 11 hours and was done in one day (Watch the full video of this process on Emily’s IG )
