REMINDER - No Changes to Holiday Waste Collection

Emterra Environmental is now collecting waste on all statutory holidays in 2026, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, so there are NO CHANGES to Canada Day waste collection.

Please place your waste at the curb on your regular collection day.

Residents throughout Carleton Place are encouraged to have items curbside by 7:00 a.m. on their collection day to ensure items are collected!

Construction activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:

Public Works Yard - 97 Franklin Street
Work is continuing on the forming of the walls for the new salt shed. Work has commenced on the construction of the footings for the new 5-bay garage.

Lake Avenue West (O’Donovan Drive to Boat Launch)
All road works have been completed. Landscaping activities will take place in September.

Frank Street (Emily Street to Mississippi River)
Top course asphalt has been postponed until July 2nd/3rd.

James Street (Townline Road to Bell Street)
Asphalt overlay has been postponed until July 2nd/3rd.

Joseph Street (Townline Road to High Street)
Asphalt overlay has been postponed until July 2nd/3rd.

Napoleon Street (Wilson Street to Woodward Street)
Watermain removal and replacement is set to begin June 29th and will be ongoing until July 17th.

Sarah Street (Lake to Woodward)
Roadway removals and granular replacement have commenced and will continue next week. Concrete repairs will begin in early July.

Sarah Street (Arthur to Morris)
Roadway removals and reinstatement will be ongoing between June 30th and July 7th. Concrete repairs will be completed in early July.

For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you cannot avoid these areas, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule.
