Can house plans purchased online get you a building permit?
This depends on where they are purchased but typically the answer is NO!
Check out one of our recent designs for a beautiful cottage!! where the client purchased drawings online!
The original purchased drawings did not comply with Ontario's Building Code and the client wanted changes made, like adding a full basement walkout and making the loft all one open space!

CodeWise TIPS!!
I believe all cabinet manufacturers know these Building Code clearance requirements!! BUT if you are a homeower planning to install your own kitchen or just want to be sure your kitchen is installed "to Code" reference the illustration from the "Ontario Code & Construction Guide for Housing"
