We are a not-for-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta. Having observed the barriers and stigma that transgender and gender creative youth experience and wanting to change those narratives, the Skipping Stone Foundation was formed to give youth positive and affirming opportunities surrounding their gender identity. Our mission is to empower transgender and gender diverse youth by providing them with the resources and opportunities to follow and achieve their goals and dreams.

We’re urgently looking for 2–3 hairstylists for our Expressions: Hair & Makeup Day on June 14 from 9:45AM-2:00PM. Without a few more talented stylists, we won’t be able to run this event.
Expressions: Hair & Makeup Days provide free, gender‑affirming services to help folks realize their gender expression goals. It’s a powerful, joy-filled space where trans and gender-diverse community members can explore how they want to show up in the world — with support, tools, and care.
✅ Honorarium is provided.

A space for Asian q***r and trans individuals that addresses the unique intersections of q***rness, gender, and race.
EXPRESSIONS: HAIR & MAKEUP (Sunalta Community Hall)
Sunday, June 14 | 10AM-2PM
This free event provides services and tools to support folks in realizing their gender expression goals. Registration required.
HEARTS & CRAFTS: TEENS (Skipping Stone)
Thursday, May 25 | 6:15PM-8:15PM
A space for q***r, trans and ally youth (age 12-18) to connect through creativity. Work on a facilitator lead project or work on your own projects in the space together. Art supplies and good vibes provided.
CAREGIVER MEETUP (Hudsons Shawnessy)
Tuesday, June 23 | 6:30PM-9:30PM
A place for parents, caregivers, and family members of trans and gender diverse folks to come together for community, conversation, and a fun night out!
