Relentless Chris Jones

It’s stuff like this that makes all of my time and effort worthwhile. Thanks for the great shout out about my book - September Plumer.

I discovered this author because he’s one of only 5 EOS Implementers in Alberta. What’s that? My absolute favorite business book is Traction by Gino Wickman and EOS is the operating system it introduces that businesses can use to be more strategic/successful. The book is like a miniature MBA - it’s genius. All entrepreneurs should read it. Implementers are coaches that will guide you through the process if you want professional help - and Chris is one. I followed him on LinkedIn out of curiosity and recently he promoted his new book.

DUDE. IT IS SO GOOD. I read it cover to cover in three hours because I couldn’t put it down.

Here are my favorite things about the book:

🔥 His approach is outstanding: he writes a chapter sharing his experience running a successful sporting goods company and then has two pages at the end of each chapter. One is a summary of business principles illustrated in the chapter. The second are growth exercises in the form of questions to get you thinking about how to use his stories and principles to help you. The takeaways are ultra clear.

🔥It is storytelling at its finest. I am taking a class right now on how to use storytelling to make presentations more interesting and more memorable and Chris clearly knows what he’s doing.

🔥 He had someone make simple illustrations of key moments in his entrepreneurial journey that appear throughout the book, and then in the last two pages get put together in a larger road map. What a lovely visual (and clever outline for his book!)

🔥 His principles are basic good business - but as any entrepreneur will tell you, sometimes the simple stuff can be forgotten and come back to bite you. I was impressed with the humility and vulnerability Chris showed as he talked about what he learned from the mistakes he made.

I did not expect to be so impressed with this book. What a treat it was. I’ve read over 50 books this year and this one is a top 5.
