Pressure has a way of making you question yourself.
It gets loud. It gets heavy. It makes you wonder if you’re really built for what’s in front of you and for the dreams you believe are possible.
But let me remind you of something, if you’re feeling pressure, it’s because you care. It’s because you’re stepping into something that matters to you. And that’s not weakness, that’s courage.
You’re not behind.
You’re not incapable.
You’re not alone in the weight you feel. We all feel some type of pressure.
Growth rarely feels comfortable. Becoming rarely feels easy. But the very pressure you’re trying to escape might be the thing shaping you into who you’re meant to be.
So breathe. Keep the faith and take the next step anyway. Not the whole staircase. Just the next step.
There’s more waiting for you on the other side of it, more growth, more clarity, more strength than you can see right now.
And one day, you’ll look back and realize this wasn’t the season that broke you it was the season that built you.
Keep going.

Consistency takes time.
In the big picture, doing something once or twice may not seem like it makes a lasting difference. But when you zoom in, you start to realize that each day we are cultivating habits through the actions we choose.
At one point, I wanted to become a better reader so I picked up more books. I wanted to dive deeper in my faith so I took actionable steps in that direction.
Consistency always begins with a decision. The start is rarely the hardest part. The true test is staying the course, showing up again and again, even when the mood is gone, even when the progress feels slow.
Plenty of people start. Few stick around long enough to see the fullness of what their daily actions create over time.
In sports, consistency turns practice into permanent habits. It shows up in the drills, the angles, the rhythm, the trust and confidence to execute when it’s time to perform. In life, it’s the small habits, repeated daily, that shape who you become.
We all want the big breakthrough moments, but don’t look so far ahead that you miss the value of the daily work that builds those moments.
Those who want to be good do things when the feeling is right. Those who want to be transformed stay consistent in the process no matter how they feel.

Patience.
When I was younger, I used to hate when my elders, coaches, or parents would tell me, “stay patient.” Even now, it’s something I’m still working on. Who really wants to wait when you feel like you have all the pieces to achieve your goal right now?
But nothing came right away for me in sports. Nor did it come quickly in other areas of my life. The breakthrough in my track and field career didn’t happen until I embraced the process of being a student of the sport.
I’ve always been inquisitive, always wanting to know the “why” and the “how.” I would watch my training partners—the way they moved, how they struck the ground, how they made specific adjustments in different parts of their race. We all moved differently, but for me, it was important to see movement in different shapes and forms.
My former coach, , used to ask me when I was 16, “How did that feel?” after each rep. And I hated it—because I didn’t yet understand what he was trying to get me to recognize. Years later, when I turned pro and he asked again, I could finally answer with insight and maturity.
Now, standing on the other side as a coach, I ask my athletes those same types of questions. Because I’ve learned that it’s not just about doing the work—it’s about embracing the fullness of what you do.
Being a student of anything never stops. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep asking questions. Keep searching for the answers.
Because how you wait matters. And how you prepare matters.
Don’t just go through the motions—be intentional with how you process and apply things for yourself.
