Took our new tools for a test drive last week. The new DR-ONE proved to deliver when we found ourselves geosteering into a troublesome zone not compatible with EM signal.
We successfully shot 13 of our 72 lateral surveys with the pulse end of the tool when EM signal was lost as well as maintaining our gamma log integrity through the section. We saved a trip for mud pulse tools and by using EM where available which saved our client 4 additional hours of surveying time over using solely mud pulse.
