Dr. Kristen Hutchinson (they/she) is a q***r and gender-fluid visual artist, cultural critic, curator, writer, and editor, and an adjunct professor of art history, feminism, media studies, and popular culture. They received their PhD in the History of Art from University College London in 2007 and have taught courses on a vast variety of topics at universities and colleges in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. Hutchinson has worked as a nationally syndicated columnist on art and popular culture at CBC Radio and is the author of three books: the forthcoming Kiss & Tell: Le***an Art & Activism (Art Canada Institute, 2025), Monsters No More: How We Came to Love Denizens of the Dark (Leanpub, 2025), and Prairie Tales: A History (Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society, 2017). They were the editor-in-chief of Luma Quarterly from 2018 to 2021 and for the journal’s final issue in 2024. She is currently undertaking a research residency at Artexte about Canadian lesboq***r artists.

Lindsay Sorell is an artist living in beautiful Waskesiu, Saskatchewan. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and an MA in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies with a specialization in Media and Culture. Lindsay has been privileged to take part in numerous group and solo exhibitions and was the founding Editor of Luma Quarterly. She continues to make and review art, works as a hotel manager, and lives at the lake.

Katie Wackett is a Calgary/Mohkinstsis-based filmmaker and cultural worker. Katie founded an accessible Film department for artists with disabilities at the National accessArts Centre and is a key staff member at the Calgary Underground Film Festival and Artifact Film Festival.

Nicola Waugh is an independent producer and educator working between Arcata, California and Calgary, Canada. Nicola holds a Master’s Degree in Communication and Culture from Toronto Metropolitan University, and has a background in film programming and criticism. She has worked with several film festivals and artist-run centers, including the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers, Artifact Small Format Film Festival, Calgary Underground Film Festival, Calgary Cinematheque, Regent Park Film Festival, and Reel Asian Film Festival, and is the co-founder Luma Quarterly.

Vicki Van Chau is a filmmaker, curator and cultural worker based in Calgary, Alberta on Treaty 7 territory. She is currently the Executive Director for the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society (AMAAS) where she serves media artists and media art organizations across the province through advocacy work, development opportunities and bridging connections. She was formerly the Programming Director at EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society, where she co-founded the PARTICLE + WAVE Media Arts Festival, and Luma Quarterly. She recently co-founded the Calgary Chinatown Pop-Up Movie Club, an event series that shares knowledge about Chinese culture and the Chinese diaspora experience through film.
