Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra

Tonight we were treated to a sublime performance of Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto with conductor Earl Lee leading superstar soloist Steven Isserlis and the Orchestra. In making his Calgary debut this evening, Isserlis appeared as our final Naomi + John Lacey Virtuoso Program artist of the season. Highlights continued to flow following intermission: double bassist Matthew Heller received the Phil’s Musical Education Champion Award, and then Lee and the Orchestra returned to the stage for all the magnificence of Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony.
