The FIFA World Cup has been bringing people together across the country, and our communities have been joining in the excitement every step of the way. ⚽

At AgeCare Glenwarren (Victoria, BC), residents and team members showed their Canadian pride in red and white as they gathered to watch the action. At AgeCare Willowgrove (Ancaster, ON), residents kicked off the tournament with a spirited Jersey Day. And at Gibson Long-Term Care Residence (North York, ON), residents and staff came together over popcorn and good company to cheer on Team Canada.

As Canada prepares for another match, we're proud to see so much enthusiasm and team spirit across our AgeCare homes.

Go Canada! 🇨🇦

Understanding Brain Injury Starts with Awareness

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month — an opportunity to learn and support those living with acquired brain injury.

AgeCare is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Injury Canada / Lésion cérébrale Canada to raise awareness and strengthen supports for those impacted.

More than 1.5 million Canadians are affected by acquired brain injury. While often invisible, its impact on physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being can be significant — not only for individuals, but also for families, caregivers, and communities.
Through this partnership, we’re helping connect residents, families, and caregivers with trusted resources, including:

• Access to brain injury services across Canada
• Caregiver education and training
• Mental health and symptom management supports

At AgeCare, we are committed to fostering understanding and delivering compassionate, informed care. By building awareness and improving access to resources, we can help ensure those living with brain injury receive the recognition and support they deserve.

Together, we can create more informed, inclusive, and supportive environments for everyone.

AgeCare is excited and proud to expand our specialized care services offering with a new complex Mental Health and Brain Injury program at AgeCare Riverview in Medicine Hat, AB.

In partnership with Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) and Recovery Alberta, this program will offer a specialized program within a established beautiful setting.

Earlier this week, Agecare and ALA came together with the amazing Agecare Riverview team to commemorate this important milestone and additional specialized service. This program builds on our growing journey in specialized care services, which began with AgeCare SkyPointe II and Agecare Mount Royal in Calgary.

In the creation of this specialized service, AgeCare has partnered with the University of Calgary, Faculty of Medicine, to develop specialized Brain Injury training for team members across the nation to strengthen our ability to provide compassionate, specialized care for our residents.
