At The Doorway young people share their experiences with community authentically and without fear of judgment and develop a growing understanding that they were not alone in their journey off the streets.

After 21 months working through MyPLAN process, Doorway participant Jose shared:

""I have to be thankful for The Doorway for giving a chance to express myself and to give insight of what's going on on the streets. It's ok to feel worthless and that no one cares, farther than the truth, the help has always been there just that people has always choose not to be helped and that's ok too. No one was born knowing everything we are human, we are not perfect."

Doorway participants are motivated to become the best version of themselves.

Young people make small, realistic, and measurable improvements in their daily lives as they work through MyPLAN, a process that emphasizes responsibility, accountability and personal rewards.

This unique approach fosters resilience and promotes a long‑term mindset of positive change, empowering participants to take ownership of their development and work toward stable, rewarding outcomes.

After 22 months at The Doorway, Cass shared:

"I'm going to have to acknowledge and relive a lot of pain in order to heal from it, and acknowledge my role in my own downfall. I know I can get better, if I actually apply myself. I could be bettering aspects of life every day, creating a big change over a span of months, maybe years. I just have to accept some things I don't like, in order to like myself more, and treat myself and others better. But I don't want to wallow in guilt, because it doesn't help me, and it especially doesn't change anything I've done that's hurt myself or others."
