LandSolutions feels it important to support families and communities of First Nations, Metis and Inuit children that were forced to attend residential schools and recognize and reflect on the lasting impact it had on all Indigenous Peoples.

To honour them, our Canadian offices will be closed on Sept. 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and will re-open on Oct. 1

Here are some ways to show your support:

• Enroll in the University of Alberta’s Indigenous Canada course
• Participate in a potlach, drum ceremony or Powwow
• Read the Truth & Reconciliation Commission Report and the 94 calls to action
• Talk to your children and ask questions about what they are learning in school about Indigenous Peoples
• Wear Orange to help create awareness about residential school survivors and the affects these individuals, and their loved ones, are still experiencing today

Today is ! The Orange Shirt Society was formed in Williams Lake, BC to educate people and create awareness in Canada about the residential school system and to honor survivors and their families. It’s an opportunity for survivors to tell their stories and come together to support the collective voice that . Today we are proud to wear orange to support this important initiative as a team.
