g information. Fig Tree Foundation was established in 2005 by a group of concerned Calgarians that had a desire to contribute to international development initiatives. Since then we have provided more than $420,000 in funding to support projects in 14 different countries. Previously funded project areas include: gender equality, health, education, training, renewable energy, microfinance, reforestation, agriculture, water and sanitation, and small business development. We have established a thorough evaluation process to ensure projects we fund are sustainable, supported by the local community and will have a lasting beneficial impact. We are currently working on a social enterprise grant so organizations can pilot social enterprise ideas.
