A Calgary building materials supplier has been fined $350,000 after a worker was fatally crushed by dislodged marble slabs at a warehouse in 2023. LX Hausys Canada Inc. pleaded guilty to one Occupational Health and Safety Act charge, with the penalty funding new virtual reality forklift training and workplace safety programs for English language learners. Former employees had previously raised concerns about safety practices and worker training at the facility.
