What do you think about when you are in pain? What are the thoughts that casually or forcefully occupy your mind? Are there thoughts you want to stop or change or learn? How do your thoughts impact your perception of pain?
I learned DBT, CBT and they help, along with meditation and other mental calming treatments like self hypnosis.

Nice to see the snow melt but dang, the chinooks can take a toll. How are you all fairing with pain management during the wild weather?
The snow and drifts keep piling up. Chronic pain sufferers often report flare ups of usual pain and new injury when trying to deal with the white stuff themselves. Please ask for help or do tiny bits at a time. I know I am tempted to just get'er done and push through the pain out in the cold. Because it has to be done. But is my pride and impatience worth the price to be paid? No, so now I ask for help when its too much. I hope you all do too.
What is your 'go to' food when you are having a pain flare or worse pain day?
Mine is soup.
