If the wood has too much moisture it will fail

if coatings are applied in the middle of the day and steel is too hot ....it will fail

If u only paint 3 sides of the wood and miss a side ....it will fail



with the extreme weather conditions in Alberta there is not much of a window for having the perfect conditions for painting
