It is with great sadness the Calgary Stampeders learn of the death of Bruce Covernton.

“Quick-witted and big-hearted, Bruce was a larger-than-life personality,” said Stampeders president Jay McNeil, who was one of Covernton’s offensive line colleagues during his playing days. “He was a great teammate, a great friend and, more importantly, he had a giant heart for people in need. He will be missed by many. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Congrats to Jay on the promotion!

Looks like Huff is nearing retirement which will end a very successful era in Calgary.

Glad he’s staying on for a bit longer!

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce that Jay McNeil has been appointed President of the football club.

Outgoing president John Hufnagel remains with the organization and will assume the role of special advisor to McNeil and GM/HC Dave Dickenson.
