Congratulations, class of 2026!
Mount Royal University was filled with pride to watch more than 1,800 graduates receive their degrees, diplomas and certificates during Convocation 2026. From June 10 to June 12, six ceremonies celebrated Mount Royal’s newest alumni, who were cheered on by supportive friends, family, faculty members, employees and fellow students — all who played a part in their academic journey. They were days of commemoration and camaraderie, combined with a tad of apprehension of the unknown. There is no doubt the class of 2026 has the tools and the skills needed to face it all with their clearly demonstrated intelligence, ethics and perseverance.
Those 1,800-plus graduands-turned-graduates make up more than half of the total graduating class of 2,310. They now join the welcoming MRU alumni family of close to 118,000 strong.
It is not a "farewell," however, but more of an "until we meet again."

Budding botanist Ashley Lawson knows well how much a plant’s environment impacts its growth. And Mount Royal University proved to be just the right ecosystem for her to thrive.
Lawson was originally drawn to MRU because of its smaller class sizes and all the perks that come with that.
“I liked that the smaller sizes allowed for more hands-on experience in the labs and the opportunities to build much more personal connections with faculty and other students. Networking really is everything,” Lawson shares.
“The relationships you make with your peers and faculty do have more of an impact than you realize. This spans across both academic and life-related aspects.”
