With construction underway on more than $600M in major city-building projects in Calgary's Culture & Entertainment District, as well as The City of Calgary’s Green Line LRT project, visitors to the area can expect traffic detours and delays through 2023.

New traffic and pedestrian detours will be installed at the intersection of 11 Ave and 4 St S.E. on March 15 to facilitate utilities work for the Green Line Calgary LRT project, and other roads in the area are closed to enable construction on the BMO Centre Expansion, the 17Ave S.E. Extension and Victoria Park/Stampede Station Rebuild project, and the Calgary Stampede's SAM Centre, with more to come later this spring.

We know that construction of this nature can be disruptive and that navigating the resulting detours is inconvenient, but we are confident that The C+E will be an exceptional destination for Calgarians and tourists alike when complete, so we appreciate Calgarians’ patience while we bring the vision to life.

If you’re heading to The C+E for an event, give yourself extra time to get there, consider taking transit, enter from the south via 25 Ave S.E. and be sure to follow detour and wayfinding signs. Don’t forget to check The C+E Access Map regularly for real-time updates.
