Inspired Design Studio

A bright, airy, timeless, sleek and quietly elegant home is what Inspired Design Studio aimed for in this recent Chestermere project. As the forever home of this lovely family of 5, the client wanted a space that can grow with them and adapt to their changing needs in the coming years.

Inspired Design studio opted for a dominantly neutral backdrop with accessories providing a pop of colour. We also tried to inject a mix of curved, linear and sculptural shapes to keep the space current and trendy.

To keep the costs more manageable, we opted not to change the lighting fixture in the dining room. We also worked with some of the client's older, functional pieces she brought from her previous home. Minimal accessorizing and styling was done. This is to give way to the biggest splurge which was on the quartz slab on the fireplace and built-ins which we had custom-made. With a 5-week timeline for the project, we worked with items that could be easily sourced and at the same time, fulfill the concept that was approved by the client.

For us, it was truly time well-spent with family and friends. We decorated our home with our Pastel Chinoiserie theme this year. It started out with inspiration that I got from these white and blue porcelain stickers. That's where the Chinoiserie idea came from. At the same time though, I wanted to add some playfullness and modernity to the theme. So we added colour! In all of its pastel-hue-glory!

The post is admittedly super delayed this year. It has been a crazy busy 4th quarter. Thanks for bearing with us!

Inspired Design Studio will be assisting in styling a young lady's 18th birthday celebration this Saturday!

Our own, Nina Santillan of IDS, will be baking, styling and preparing the dessert and candy bar for the event too!

The birthday girl's chosen palette is a muted pink, white, beige/gold and silver. It will be dainty and the venue will be dotted with flowers in the celebrant's favourite hues. We are very excited to see it all come together! ❤️
