Calgary Expos Goes Down On Final Play Against Edmonton Angels

It came down to the last play, but Expos was on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Edmonton Angels on Saturday. The game was tied at six with Edmonton Angels batting in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Despite the loss, Expos did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Edmonton Angels had eight hits on the way to victory.

In the first inning, Edmonton Angels got their offense started. #13 doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Edmonton Angels evened things up at six in the bottom of the sixth inning. #15 grounded out, scoring one run.

Expos tallied three runs in the second inning. Expos big inning was driven by a single by Ian Shay and an error on a ball put in play by James Wreford.

#3 was on the mound for Edmonton Angels. The pitcher allowed four hits and six runs over six innings, striking out five.
Wreford was on the hill for the Expos. The righthander surrendered six runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Joseph Ell threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.

Wreford, Shay, Kyle Wilde, Jacob Hansen, and Ethan Aspeslet-Asels each collected one hit to lead Expos. Aspeslet-Asels led Expos with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.

Edmonton Angels scattered eight hits in the game. #3, #29, and #6 all managed multiple hits for Edmonton Angels.
